Transgenic mice are an essential tool for the research and development of the Dumont lab. Maribelle holds the responsibility of:
- timing pregnancies by designating the day the copulation plugs are observed
- record keeping including: pedigree, animal/cage counts
- coordinating the necessary transgenic mice for our students as well as the staff running the Sunnybrook animal facility.
- organization of breeding pairs
- weaning and tagging litters
- phenotype/genotype analysis
- harvesting of embryos and organs
